The River House on the Pedernales is a destination in the Texas Hill Country, just outside of Austin, Texas. The property is situated on 36 acres on a bluff overlooking the Pedernales River. We consider this property to be a secluded river abode, although the drive from downtown Austin is not far.​

The reception barn is made with cedar beams and includes an upper floor balcony that looks over the river. The barn is enclosed, heated and air conditioned. There is a space next to the barn that can accommodate a tent.

The River House on the Pedernales offers a Reception Barn, multiple outdoor ceremony sites, a commercial kitchen, tables and chairs, a stone smoker grill with stone buffet tables, a gas grill, an outdoor fire pit, changing/lounge rooms, restroom facilities, yard games, and a scenic walking trail down to the river.

The Pergola Cliff Overlook

This site overlooks the Pedernales River and Central Texas hill country. The trellis covered gravel site is near the cliff edge, which creates a stunning view of stark depth contrasts.

 

The Oak Covered Bridge

The wooden bridge starts near the reception barn and leads to the Meadow. Oak trees grow over the bridge and make a beautiful scene with plenty of shade.

 

The Meadow

Covered with wildflowers in the Spring, the Meadow rests near a single large oak tree. The backdrop is undeveloped land with natural grasses and oaks.
